Description
The cento (Latin for "patchwork") is a collage made from language, a new piece of art made from the lines of other poems.
Join MoonLit at the DC Writers' Salon for an evening of holiday cheer and turn your collage poems into holiday cards! In this workshop, we will:
- Use words to make artful cards you can send to loved ones
- Learn about the art of cento
- Have a jolly good time
No poetry skills needed and we will provide all the needed crafting materials. You bring yourself (and friends)!
This workshop is led by Kristen Zory King. Kris is a writer, artist facilitator, and founder of MoonLit, an organization that creatively connects community through accessible literary programming. She is a two-time recipient of the DC Commission on Arts and Humanities Fellowship, an alum of the 5th Woman Poetry Fellowship, and of DC's 202Creates Residency Program.
