Join Social Media Club DC for a networking lunch and panel discussion featuring experts from the association and non-profit advocacy space as we talk about the tools and tactics that worked and didn't work in 2012. Please note that you must RSVP on Eventbrite to confirm attendance + let us know what you would like to eat for lunch.

About the Speakers:

John Brougher: John serves as the Vice President of Marketings and Nonprofit Sales for NGP VAN, and has been working with technology and communicationfor years. He has a passion for progressive politics, new media, and marketing. John also founded and manages the MaleFeminists.com blog that strives to be a strong ally in the broader fight for equality. Previously working as New Media Communications Manager for the Democratic Governors Association (DGA), John is a Democracy for America (DFA) trainer and has served as a speaker for countless conferences and panels and emceed numerous events.

Colin Delany is founder and editor of Epolitics.com, a site that focuses on the tools and tactics of Internet politics and online political advocacy. The author of "How Candidates Can Use the Internet to Win in 2012" and a comprehensive guide to the 2008 Obama online campaign, Colin has worked as a consultant to help dozens of advocacy campaigns promote themselves in the digital world. He is currently Director of Online Communications at the National Women's Law Center and also writes the "Technology Bytes" column for Campaigns & Elections magazine.


Tammy Gordon is AARP's Director of Social Communications. She launched AARP's social media guidelines, established branded social platforms, trained hundreds of staffers growing the organization's engaged social presence into a nationally recognized leader. Today, she manages a six person team of community managers and bloggers, as well as serving a network of nearly 300 staffers across the country use social media on a regular basis.

Dave Leichtman has extensive experience with online communities, project development and a wide-ranging technical background. Dave’s team is responsible for all client-facing support of and training for Salsa Labs products. He previously served as liaison to the Obama Campaign in 2008 at Blue State Digital as well as Analytics Director and Training Director. Dave is also very active in Virginia Democratic politics and is an elected member of the state party and a tech and communications advisor to many campaigns. He holds a B.S. in physics, computer science, and mathematics from William & Mary, and a M.S. in physics from the University of Washington. Dave loves his family, Democratic politics, beer, and particle physics - in that order.
