DC Science Hack Day 2015
Event Information
Description
Commons Lab of the Wilson Center and ARTSEDGE of the Kennedy Center are proud to invite you to the first-ever Science Hack Day in Washington, D.C.
SHD is a 48-hour-all-night event where anyone excited about making weird, silly or serious things with science comes together in the same physical space to see what they can prototype. Designers, developers, scientists and anyone who is excited about making things with science are welcome to attend – no experience in science or hacking is necessary, just an insatiable curiosity. By collaborating on focused tasks during this short period, small groups of hackers are capable of producing remarkable results.
People organically form multidisciplinary teams over the course of a weekend. The Commons Lab is carefully curating a great list of lightning talks to inspire making on questions and datasets like: how to make primary sources digitally available to humanities students and researchers, what can we mashup with the EPA's enviroatlas website to make their data more interesting and usable and the FBI on what are best practices for DIY biohackers.
Please vist DC Science Hack Day for all information, including FAQs, what to bring, inspiration, github access, logistics, demos of previous hack days and hack projects.
We look forward to seeing you and celebrating SHD in our Nations Capitol!
