Description

Join us for the first meetup of the DC Futurist Society. We’ll be talking space policy and the future of human settlement! We are excited to announce that Aaron Oesterle, Vice President of PoliSpace, an expert on space policy will be joining us to discuss next steps in American space policy and the challenges ahead.

The final location is pending and will be provided upon RSVP, but will be in downtown DC. We look forward to seeing you there!

Aaron's Bio:

Aaron’s passion and love for space development began at an early age when in he saw a show about the planet Uranus, and the various theories about it’s tilted access. From that time on, Aaron has been an avid reader of anything space related. He attended the NASA Space Camp at both Kennedy Space Center as well as at Huntsville in Alabama throughout middle and high school.
Aaron graduated from the University of Michigan in Aerospace Engineering, with a minor in science, technology, and society. While at Michigan, Aaron helped to restart the Michigan SEDS chapter with Greg Wagner and Harvey Elliot.

Aaron is currently the Vice President at PoliSpace, a space policy consulting firm. In addition to the day to day business operations, some of the services they provide include strategic planning, government relations and regulations, marketing service to the emerging commercial spaceflight industry. Aaron has provided analysis of the International Space Station, Commercial Crew funding and Procurement strategy as well as game changing technologies. He has also developed and presented outreach advocacy strategy for clients regarding Congressional staff briefings on commercial ISS utilization.

Aaron also serves on the Board of the Space Frontier Foundation since 2013, and also serves as the policy director for the Space Frontier Foundation. While there, he has helped to relaunch the MarchStorm Citizens Space Campaign, which resulted in language being included in recently passed NASA Transition act of 2017. He also served as NewSpace Vice Chair 2014
Aaron has been published in The Space Review and also occasionally blogs on Dailykos, both under the pseudonym Ferris Valyn.
