Washington, DC has never been home to a drive-in movie experience -- until now. This summer, "DC Drive-In" will screen on Fridays at Union Market.
This unique event is unlike any other summer screening series in the District -- a full recreation of a drive-in movie experience. Watch classic Washington, D.C.-centric films on Union Market's huge 3-story wall. Enjoy pre-show festivities, including music, contests and special giveaways. And of course, dine on the fresh and fabulous offerings of Union Market's vendors -- served by rollerskating car hops!. No car? No problem -- there is also a secured picnic area on the parking lot for bikers and walkers.
DC Drive-In is free to attend.
No reservation needed for cars entering after 8:00pm.

Frequently Asked Questions
There are no more car reservations available. Can I still attend?
Yes, we only took reservations for a portion of the lot. At 8:00pm, we will direct cars that have been waiting in line on 6th Street (southbound) into any unfilled spaces. For safety reasons, no cars will be allowed to enter the lot after 8:45pm. Street parking around Union Market is also available, so consider parking elsewhere and watching the film from the picnic area.
What if I don't have a car?
We have a large picnic area available for walkers and bikers. We recommend arriving early to find the best spots. Blankets are highly recomended, as much of the picnic area is on pavement.
Will the films be captioned?
Yes!
How will the sound work?
We have speakers for the picnic area. Cars will tune in to 88.1 FM on their radio. All films will also be captioned.
Will the market be open?
Yes! Visit one of the many Market vendors for food and drinks, or order special snacks from our rollerskating car hops. Popcorn available from DC Empanadas, frozen drinks available from Suburbia DC and more!
Can I bring my dog?
We love dogs, but wouldn't bring ours to this event. The picnic area on the pavement might be too hot for their paws, and no dogs are allowed in the Market.
What time should I arrive at Union Market for the Drive-In?
We recommend arriving early. Entertainment, contests, and more will begin at 7pm and there's plenty of food and drink available from Union Market vendors! Reservations will be valid until 8pm on the day of the show, at which time we will direct cars that have been waiting in line on 6th Street into any unfilled spaces. For safety reasons, no cars will be allowed to enter the lot after 8:45pm.
