Description

GAIN’s Mentor Committee is proud to present the third event of its 'D.C. Decorum' workshop series, centered on the proper – yet distinctive – methods of conduct that are sure to set you apart from the crowd in Washington D.C.

Please plan to join us for an in-depth workshop at 5:30 PM on Thursday, October 19th, at the offices of Levick for 'D.C. Decorum: Media Management & Speed Training.' The objective of this hands-on workshop is to help GAIN members from every GR background feel more confident when speaking to reporters, and give them the tools they need to control a narrative.

GR and communications professionals are frequently required to engage with the media to defend the actions of an employer, corroborate stories, or disseminate positive messages. GAIN Mentors' 'Media Management & Speed Training' workshop will teach attendees how to converse with reporters and tell a story that cuts through the noise of Washington’s 24-hour news cycle. The GAIN moderator and group leaders lead a speed media training activity, followed by a happy hour for networking and follow-up conversation.

GAIN’s mission is to ‘Inclusively Connect DC’ by helping government relations professionals at all stages of their careers develop and fine-tune their advocacy skills and attending our new ‘Decorum’ workshops is a great way for newcomers, seasoned professionals, and everyone in between to learn the ropes and sharpen their skills.

We look forward to seeing you October 19th!

We have designed this event to fully comply with US Senate Rule 35.1(d)(1), US House Ethics Manual pp. 41-47, and the U.S. Executive Branch Gift Rules regarding the "widely attended event" exception to the gift rules.
