Description

Come to the Annual DC Chinese New Years Parade to be held on Sunday, February 18th, 2018 at 2:00pm on H Street in Chinatown, Washington DC. 2018 will be the biggest and most diverse parade ever. This year, 4716 in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, is the Year of the Dog, symbolizing loyalty, honesty, likability, kindness, caution and prudence. To ring in the Year of the Dog this community-based parade will thrill you with Lions & Dragons plus other traditional Chinese Dancers, marching bands, Kung Fu schools, Chinese & American beauty pageant winners, fortune-cookie tossers and the like. Recent entrants to the parade include Batala Washington, Girls Scouts of America, Almas Shriners, Natmobile & President Mascots and more. Well wishes from DC Mayor Muriel Bowser, Taipei Economic & Cultural Representative’s Office and other VIPs. Lions and Dragons will perform on stage…all followed by the ever-anticipated and exciting firecracker finale.

Take METRO to Gallery Place/Chinatown. Come early...have a traditional Chinese lunch or dimsum and stake out your curb-side vantage point!
