Event description

Description

MARCH 5TH, 2019 is the NATIONAL DAY OF EMPATHY. This national day was founded by Van Jones, CNN political commentator. Retrain America, EDS Tech/Training Sites, LLC, Prepare Academy, and Attachment Leadership have partnerned with Van Jones' organization, Cut50, to host a Houston, Texas event in conjunction with all 50 STATES + WASHINGTON, D.C.

We will all participate to increase awareness and empathy for those impacted by the criminal justice system.

Join us as we dialogue about:

  • the needs of the veteran and homeless population
  • effective re-entry programming
  • vocational training
  • affordable housing
  • and more...

Houston, Texas will focus on re-entry of veterans and formerly incarcerated individuals. Research has found an association between homelessness, veterans, and incarceration rates.

Special Invited Guest: Van Jones

Panelist include:

  • Mayor David Allen, Mayor of the City of Prairie View
  • Dr. Tyrone Tanner, Educatio & Parent Specialist / PVAMU Professor & Executive Director
  • Dr. Derrick WIlson, Clinical Pyschologist

  • Jay Z
  • Meek Mills
  • Cardi B
