Project Peace East Bay is pleased to partner with First Presbyterian Church of Berkeley for our 4th annual Day of Service/Do Justice event! This an opportunity to join with First Pres as it worships God by serving our East Bay communities. All are welcome!
Do you want to improve our community? Do you want to meaningfully give your time? Do you want a better East Bay? Join us for Day of Service/Do Justice as a community partner. Coordinated by Project Peace East Bay and First Presbyterian Berkeley, Day of Service/Do Justice brings together local faith-based groups, community members, and East Bay social service providers.
Why does Project Peace do this? Our vision is for a more economically and socially sustainable East Bay, and we think that begins with rolling up our sleeves and working together in our local community. At our quarterly Days of Service, you can look forward to getting your hands dirty, meeting people from different backgrounds, and coming together to serve our shared community.
Landscaping, book sorting, cleaning, organizing, painting, and gardening are typical Day of Service/Do Justice activities. Our community partners pitch in wherever the social service provider has need; Day of Service/Do Justice usually involves community “sweat equity.”
Coffee and bagels will be provided at all sites for those who register on a first come, first served basis. Be sure to wear work clothes and comfortable shoes. Bring your own water and sunscreen.
Sites have limited volunteer opportunities. Please register in advance so that you (and your friends) can be sure to serve at the site that most interests you.
As always, there will be no childcare, but supervised children are welcome at most sites unless listed otherwise.
Day of Service/Do Justice is rain or shine, so come prepared!See you there!
