Event description

Description

Please join us for a day of mindfulness (DOM) for people of color, as we come back to ourselves and our community. This DOM is inspired by the tradition of Thich Nhat Hanh Plum Village’s deep teachings of peace, love, and understanding. In light of current tragic events such as Charlottesville, Hurricanes in Houston and Puerto Rico, Las Vegas massacre, & various places around the world, we would like to build a sense of solidarity among one another for collective healing to take place. We will practice sitting, eating, and walking meditation. No experience is required. We will remind each other how to return to our breath to nourish ourselves and each other in these difficult times. This event is only open for friends who self-identified as persons of color.

Please bring a brown bag vegan lunch. The village nearby sells ready-made lunch/bento boxes as well. Please also bring a yoga mat and cushion if you have one.

This event is free to all attendees. However, If you would like to donate to this event or toward future Day of Mindfulness (Eg: having a Dharma teacher, venue, operational costs, food, etc...), please click on this link:
