Day of Dialogue 2021
Event Information
About this Event
As a society, if we continue to ask individuals to change or assess what’s wrong with them, then we are using a reductionist approach by placing “band aids” on problems instead of working to transform systems and structural domains. With this in mind, Day of Dialogue 2021 seeks to Shift the Narrative from Sick Individuals to Sick Systems. Join us on Saturday, February 20th from 1-3pm to hear from panelists and engage in conversations on topics that affect our individual, relational, and community well-being.
Objectives
We aim to:
1. Shift the conversation from what’s wrong with individuals to what’s wrong with systems.
2. Raise awareness of systemic impact on Gentrification, Climate Change, Racialized Violence and Education.
3. Examine the role of interconnected systems on individual oppression.
4. Provide the tools needed to be proactive change agents in addressing systemic illnesses.
This free community event welcomes high school and college-age (undergraduate and graduate) students, parents or guardians, educators, grandparents, activists, community members and anyone interested in promoting systemic changes.
