The Desert Doula Presents:
Spinning Babies El Paso - Day 2
Sunday, December 4, 2016
This is the same workshop as Day 1; it is being held two days in a row to accommodate more attendees.
Think outside the cervix with official trainer Tammy Ryan and other like-minded birth workers at the second day of El Paso’s first ever Spinning Babies workshop. Expanding on Midwife Jean Sutton’s theory of optimal fetal positioning, Spinning Babies espouses three principles to avoid and address labor stalls: balancing the pelvis and uterus; understanding how gravity and our lifestyle influence baby’s position in utero; and applying movement for muscle tone and baby’s descent. This 7-hour workshop teaches new approaches to comfort, pain relief, fetal positioning, and labor progress that birth professionals can integrate into their spectrum of care and support. Other topics include:
• The role of soft tissues in pregnancy and labor
• Common effects of posterior position
• Resolving stalled labor through the three levels of the pelvis
• Activities for pregnancy comfort, spontaneous birth, and cesarean avoidance
Don’t miss this opportunity to expand your practices and network!
Attendance is $250.
The workshop is approved for 7 hours from DONA and several other organizations - check your organization to confirm.
