We will be serving professionally catered hors d'oeuvres for you to enjoy over LIVE performances by our special guests, Les Nubians, the grammy nominated, internationally acclaimed, French and Cameroonian singing duo!

DAWN is a global membership-based organization whose mission is to develop and support the next generation of African diaspora women leaders focused on African affairs. We seek to empower and amplify the contributions of African diaspora women in Africa’s growth, security and prosperity by highlighting the critical role women of the African diaspora possess in Africa's future and helping to diversify the African Affairs workforce.
DAWN believes in the power, promise and potential of Africa’s brightest minds in the diaspora and on the continent.
With expertise in a variety of Africa-related sectors including international development, health, education, public policy, business and media, our members are local community members with global reach, representing 31 African countries in 13 states and four continents.
DAWN provides its members with various opportunities and regular events, including private monthly dinners, mentorship opportunities; career development workshops and Africa related networking events and job opportunity announcements. DAWN also hosts a daily listserv, monthly newsletter and regular public events with partner organizations focused on raising awareness about Africa, its diaspora and issues affecting their communities.
Located in Dupont Circle, just blocks from the White House, Embassy Row and the World Bank, DAWN's 5th Annual Celebration wiill be held at The Wilderness Society's Ansel Adams Gallery. The space offers an intimate and elegant setting perfect for mingling and networking.

Run by a team of committed volunteers, DAWN is a membership-based organization that seeks to develop and support talented women & girls of the African diaspora focused on African affairs. DAWN provides monthly programming and activities for its members, including a daily listserv, monthly dinners & events, along with a monthly newsletter for its members and supporters. DAWN also hosts mentorship and career development programming for its members.
DAWN has over 250 members representing 24 African countries, the United States, Caribbean, Europe and Middle East, all of whom have a professional focus on African affairs.
