Saxophonist David DeJesus, Director of the Birdland Big Band and member of numerous organizations including Ron Carter’s Great Big Band, Jimmy Heath’s Big Band, and the Dizzy Alumni All-Stars, takes the stage with his small group featuring some to the top musicians in New York City. A Connecticut native and Norwalk, CT resident, David splits his time working in the major NYC venues, teaching in the Jazz Department at Purchase College, and developing Jazz education programs in Fairfield County. His small group, Drive, has been together since 2012 and features original compositions and arrangements that cross genre boundaries constantly, utilizing elements of Latin Jazz, Traditional Jazz, Classical music and even Hip Hop.
