Cynthia Chen

Cynthia is a 2nd year student from Harvard Law School.  She is originally from Greenville, SC and graduated from Duke in 2010.  When she is not spending her time wishing that the North had sweet tea, she enjoys dance, skiing, learning how to snowboard, listening to rap and electro, and reading YA fiction aimed at audiences much younger than she is.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) Worked part-time at a local dog daycare and boarding service this year, 2) once went skydiving in Cape Town, South Africa, 3) is really good at N64 MarioKart (come at me) but REALLY BAD at GameCube MarioKart.  :(

Julia Choe

JULIA SUN CHOE has SEVERAL life skills, including selecting manly drinks off of complicated menus, making friends with police officers, and turning empty spaces into dance parties. She is from California and does not own any plaid shirts. She enjoys people with accents and who contain useful or useless facts. Sometimes she hits people with her hair when she dances. It feels good to the body.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) subscribes to GQ 2)  can kick her head 3) once danced for / hazed Jeremy Lin

Pamela Usukumah

Pamela Usukumah is a second year student from Harvard Law School and originally from London, England.  She graduated from SUNY Stony Brook in 2009 and doesn't really miss either London or New York at all. She is Nigerian and Japanese. She loves to dance on stages/table tops in various clubs and bars, and will hopefully study abroad in Tokyo next semester. She loves driving her car around Cambridge and blasting hip hop/rap music around the Harvard campus to make other people feel uncomfortable.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) LOVE anime; Naruto, Bleach  DBZ - Vegeta is my fave character - and Basilisk.  2)  Was a nationally ranked cheerleader for about 4 years. 3) Has an awesome British accent.

Amy Rossignol

Amy is a 1st year student at Harvard Law School and originally from Seattle, WA.  She graduated from Brown in 2011. On her free time, she plays a ridiculous number of board, card, and general strategy games.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) I can swing dance, and teach you. 2) I can drive a manual car. 3) My pupils are unusually large.

Kylie Kim

I am a 1L originally from a small rural town in South Korea. I love to travel around the world solo or with a friend. I love art, especially modern European art, so if you leave me in the Louvre, I can roam around for thirteen to fourteen hours straight. I need to periodically "return to nature" so frequently go the beach, woods, or the random arboretum. I also love spending time with my family and my friends--the two most important things in life for me. Last but not least, I enjoy the occasional night out with friends, and if they leave me unbridled, I might just go wild.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) know how to say "open your mouth" in Mongolian (formally worked as a dentist's assistant in Mongolia) 2) had a fan club composed entirely of girls back in high school (admittedly, it was a girls' high school)3) can deadlift a 100 pounds"

Mackenzie Tan

Mackenzie is a second-year student at HLS. Raised by wolves in the icy wilderness of the Canadian Rocky Mountains, Mackenzie has spent his life trying to adapt to civil society. His efforts have been largely successful, as proven by his graduation from college in 2009, and his ability to resist howling at the moon and chasing after squirrels – most of the time at least.

INTERESTING FACTS:1) Mackenzie's childhood dream was to be a submarine captain because of his fascination with periscopes. 2) He was lead singer and guitarist of his high school garage band - "The Shifty Rakes" 3) And his guilty pleasure is Indonesian noodles.

Limore Torbati

Limore is a 1st year student at Harvard Law School and is originally from Los Angeles, CA. She graduated from UCLA in 2010 and has missed the sun ever since. She loves to travel and hopes to study abroad next semester.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) she loves cheezy music 2) she can play the piano 3) she uses celebrity gossip websites to avoid studying

Mai Li

Mai grew up on Vitamin D and assorted ice creams in Florida, Arkansas and Texas. She graduated from Duke in 2009, still fondly calls Texas home and does in fact own a lot of plaid. She has at times been characterized as easily amused & easily moved, and suspects this may be true: running at a moderate pace, watching inspirational football movies and eating sweet potato pie all get her blood going.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) Played inside linebacker for powderpuff football team. 2) Caught an interception! 3) Retired after running to the wrong end zone. : /

Randy Chen

Randy is a 1st year student at Harvard Law School originally from Hong Kong. He graduated from Duke in 2008, taught 8th grade English, and then went off to Los Angeles to find himself. He likes knitting, collecting stamps, and long, slow, deep, soft, kisses that last three days.

INTERESTING FACTS 1) got demoted from clarinet to bass clarinet in high school band, 2) can't stand the taste of carrots, and 3) can turn his tongue into the shape of a W.

Jon Deng

Jon happens to live near HLS.  When he isn't drinking or drunk (which is actually not that often), he is preparing himself to be the sharp end of the spear of American foreign policy.  This preparation involves a good amount of watching Friday Night Lights, collecting shiny things, listening to the Rocky soundtrack and reading Legislation and Regulation to the beat of "Sexy and I know it."

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) Everyday for dinner he eats a meal called EBS; which stands for eggs, bacon and spinach. 2) Jon laughed at Bev while she was climbing Kilimanjaro because of how lame she looked. 3) Bank acct balance: $31.02.

Ash Kim

HLS 1L from the great state of New Jersey. I am too curious for my own good. Personal motto is "try everything at least once." I love animals and have penchant for feeding stray dogs and rescuing baby birds. I love living in the city but secretly daydream about moving to Hawaii someday.

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) I believe Yeti exists. 2) I listen to country music in the morning 3) I have irrational fear of needles.

Justin Wiley

Justin is a 2L originally from Baltimore, MD.  Despite being from Baltimore, Justin has never been on an episode of the Wire and would appreciate it if people stopped asking.  Justin graduated from Amherst College in 2009 with a degree in history. At HLS, Justin is a BSA and also an active member of the Black Law Students Association.  In his free time he enjoys socializing in Hemenway where he rarely actually works out, holding open memo conferences, and being passed up by Boston cabs every weekend. (Come on man, it’s 2012!)

INTERESTING FACTS: 1) Justin played center for the Amherst College football team. 2) He is well trained in the art of oral advocacy 3) He volunteered for the auction to show APALSA that the age-old saying is true: Once you go black you really never do go back.
