Event description
Join us for our second-ever DATA2GOHEALTH and OurHome.NYC Scavenger Hunt, part of NYC's Open Data Week 2020!

About this Event

Join us for our second-ever DATA2GOHEALTH and OurHome.NYC Scavenger Hunt, part of NYC's Open Data Week 2020!

You'll use two fun and interactive data tool (DATA2GOHEALTH.NYC & OurHome.NYC) to find nearby locations that match the clues, and submit photo proof via Twitter. The winner will be announced at a networking happy hour at the end, and the prize will be a donation to a non-profit of your choice, along with bragging rights.

Participants must register here, and the event can be completed as an individual or a team, though teams are encouraged! You can come as a team or join one when you arrive.

Meet at the Robert F. Kennedy Memorial statue in Cadman Plaza, where introductions and orientation will begin at 3pm. You'll receive everything you need, but at least one person on each team will need a mobile device that can access the internet well outdoors and a twitter account. You will be walking around outdoors in the surrounding Brooklyn neighborhoods for up to 1.5 hours, plan and dress accordingly! By 4:30pm, we will convene at the nearby Circa Brewing Co. for a networking happy hour where we'll announce the winner. The happy hour is optional, you can win even if you're not present, but it's highly recommended! There are drink specials and delicious food for purchase. (Thanks Circa!)

Check back for updates on logistics, partnerships and more. We'll also email all registered participants with important updates and instructions for the event.

NYC Open Data is the City’s free public data program - providing access to more than 2,000 datasets published by various City agencies. Open Data Week is organized and produced by the NYC Open Data Program and BetaNYC. This week long event series takes place annually during the first week of March to celebrate New York City’s Open Data Law, which was signed into law on March 7, 2012, and International Open Data Day which is typically the first Saturday in March. Open Data Week acts as a week-long festival in different locations across NYC (and virtually!) bringing together various communities to have discussions, demos, trainings or other engagements to raise awareness about NYC Open Data as a free resource.
