Description
Learn about some of the hottest jobs in the news business!
News organizations are eager to hire people who have data and/or coding skills, but there simply aren’t enough qualified people applying for these jobs.
A group of journalists, including several recent U of M graduates, are going to talk about their jobs analyzing data and building online data visualizations and news apps, and tell you how they got there. Some started out as journalism students; others came from computer science. But all will talk about how their positions are highly valued in their news organizations, and give them a unique opportunity to watchdog government, educate the public, and also help reinvent journalism in the digital age.
