Event description

Description

Data Futures is a live experiment about the connections between our data and ourselves. It involves a large, real-time visualisation, two hosts and the participants' smartphones.

The audience is guided by their friendly hosts through a series of questions, some innocuous, some less so. Answers are visualised live on the big screen and in real time. As the questions progress, everyone understands more about the people around them - while at the same time being put more into the spotlight as well.

This talk and live experiment will explore the increasing access we give to our personal data. Who owns our data? What are the ethics of data access and use?

Data Futures brings the original concept by Dominikus Baur and Daniel Goddemeyer to Sydney for the first time. Data Futures: Sydney is presented by Andrea Lau of Small Multiples.
