Good data engineering makes the job of the Data Scientist much easier, and so it is good to have a working knowledge of data engineering principles. Data Engineers develop the architecture that helps analyze and process data in the way the organization needs it, and they make sure those systems are performing smoothly and securely. This talk covers the crucial aspects of Data Engineering required for a Data Science project and how these can influence the overall success of the project. The key topics discussed are storage, clustering, deployment automation, performance, trade-off analysis, and security.

This talk is suitable for abilities of all levels!

About the speaker

Valentyn Kropov is Delivery Director and Senior Solutions Architect with more than 15 years’ experience in data storing and processing technologies and is one of the lead Big Data Architects in SoftServe where he is responsible for Big Data, BI, DWH and RDBMS practice, working closely on joint projects with companies like Cloudera, Cisco, Deloitte, Amazon across US and EMEA region.
