About the Talk: Data Analysis and Visualization
This talk will focus on techniques used to take data from its source, through the analysis, to a resulting visualization.
While data analytics is not a new concept, its use has historically been relegated to only the largest of companies. It is only recently that performing analytics on data, available from a rich ecosystem of sources, has emerged as a competitive advantage in business planning for small and medium sized businesses. Many sources cite moderate to large increases in productivity and efficiency when leveraging some degree of data analysis. It is often difficult to interpret the meaning of that analysis without a great visualization.
Though technical at points, the goal of the presentation is to bring awareness to business intelligence, make leveraging business intelligence more accessible to those close to the business, and of course inform the discussion of data driven visualizations.
