Come join us for an exciting event at Torr Vale Mill where we will start working together to create our idea of a balance between tourism income and the impact increased visitor numbers are having on our neighbourhoods, high streets and countryside.
High Peak Borough Council's tourism strategy was approved in 2023, but the policy context was Buxton and Goyt Valley. But we are so much more than that.
The National Parks sees over 13 million visitors a year but our towns and villages were not built for those numbers. Influencers don't seem to prepare followers for what a day out in Drak Peak requires, public transport doesn't provide full accessibility information, drivers have no idea of how and where to park.
Individually, we may not be heard. Collectively we can find our voice.
