Event description
LSST DESC is an international collaboration of >900 scientists across 20 countries working to enable dark energy science with data from LSST

About this Event

The winter meeting is one of two yearly meetings where we coordinate our research plans for the remainder of the year, where we form new projects, and discuss new ideas. The DESC meeting starts with a 1-day school that is attended by people ranging from students to established faculty on topics related to cosmological physics, coding/computing, data science and analysis. DESC is home to some of the world-leading astrophysicists, who share their knowledge during the 4 lectures on the first day. The next 3 days are an intense work meeting with parallel and plenary session followed by a hack-day, where small groups code in break-out rooms to make progress on high-profile science projects.
