Event description

Description

We win on the issues that matter most – workers’ rights, women’s rights, climate justice, and a fair justice system–when everyone has the opportunity to participate in our democracy.

Small Planet Institute (new DI partner) has released Daring Democracy by Frances Moore Lappé and Adam Eichen. Their book celebrates the accomplishments of our democracy movement and the importance of uniting across causes and ideologies. Together, we can protect our democracy from the systemic effort to shift power away from every day people, destroy the social safety net, bus unions, and place power and wealth into the hands of few. The book includes interviews and quotes from Wendy Fields, Executive Director of the Democracy Initiative, Sierra Club and other democracy partners.

Join us for a lively discussion on October 24 at Busboys & Poets (5th Street) with Frances Moore Lappé, Adam Eichen, and Wendy Fields on how millions of Americans are uniting together to achieve historic and transformative change for workers, our planet, and our neighbors. Books will be available for sale at the event.
