About this event
Daniel Tiger Visits Seashore with Maine Public Television! Take an adventure to Seashore Trolley Museum on September 11th and 12th for a socially distanced meet and greet with Daniel Tiger, from the PBS KIDS series Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood. Tickets are still available; scroll past the sold out times to find the times available.
Hop on a trolley shuttle to Highwood Carhouse to meet Daniel and Seashore's very own Biddeford & Saco Car 31 to visit and to take socially distanced photos with Daniel and this special trolley car. Enjoy other activities around the Museum campus, including Maine Public Television's fun activity tent and Daniel Tiger Tails (edible craft with pretzels)! Guests can also visit our regular Museum exhibits and displays, as well as ride trolleys on our private 3-mile round trip heritage railroad!
This event will be held rain or shine. Tickets may be transferred to another guest or family, but no refunds will be issued. No transfers, time changes, or any other ticket changes will be possible after 5PM on Friday, September 10, 2021.
On September 11th & 12th, the Museum will be open from 10AM-5PM, and Daniel Tiger will be visiting with us from 11AM-4PM. Tickets will be sold at 30-minute intervals for the shuttle ride to meet Daniel Tiger at Highwood Carhouse; we ask that guests arrive at the Museum at least 20 minutes prior to boarding time to ensure ample time for parking and checking in at our Registration Tent, which will be located between our Visitors Center and Tower C, visible from our parking lot. Stroller parking will be available near Tower C.
Guests are welcome to arrive earlier and stay later to take advantage of all of the other activities, exhibits and displays at the Museum! Pack a picnic lunch (we have 3 picnic areas with picnic tables, and plenty of lawn space for lawn chairs/blankets) or purchase a hot dog/ mac and cheese lunch and other snacks/juice boxes/water at our Trolley Fare!
Tickets are $12 per person; children two (2) and under are FREE. Children two (2) and under do not need tickets to attend with a ticket-holding adult.
Seashore Trolley Museum has a Mobilift to help guests with mobility challenges access our trolleys. The Mobilift is compatible with trolleys that will be operating on our regular railway during the event, but not on the shuttles that will take families to Highwood Carhouse to meet Daniel. There is an access road families can use to drive or walk to Highwood; please email Patti Chase (contact info below) to let us know if you would like to take advantage of this option.

Our Event’s COVID-19 Policies and Mask Policies: As conditions continue to change during the global pandemic, our policies for this event have changed in response. The following COVID-19 policies have been put into place during our Daniel Tiger Visits Seashore event:
- Per a federal TSA mandate for passenger railroads, masks must be worn while on our trolleys (even the open air trolleys) by everyone 5 years old and older. (this has remained a constant policy for us since May 2020 and was included in the ticket description when you purchased them). New For this Event: In addition to wearing masks on our trolleys, masks are also required for all guests age 5 years and older inside our Visitors Center, in and around Highwood Carhouse and Maine Public Television's activity area (the Daniel Tiger experience), and when social distancing isn’t possible outdoors.
- Special precautions are being taken to meet Daniel Tiger. Lines will be carefully monitored for appropriate distancing and families will be in sufficient proximity to Daniel for photos, but no touching will be possible. A sheet of plexiglass will separate visitors from Daniel.
- All trolleys will be disinfected before and after each ride.
- Hand sanitizer stations will be available inside the Exhibit Room (Daniel Tiger Tails edible activity), Highwood Carhouse, The Restoration Shop gallery, and Riverside Carhouse.
