Dancing Mindfulness uses the art form of dance as the primary medium of discovering mindful awareness. Classes are open to anyone who is curious about exploring a blend of dance, music, meditation and/or spiritual practice. Dancing Mindfulness classes focus on self-discovery through seven primary areas of mindfulness in motion: breath, sound, body, story, mind, spirit, and fusion (of all elements). Participants are invited to tap into their body’s own healing resources and realize their unique creativity in a welcoming, container. Jennifer Sharp is a teacher, writer, truth-seeker, and workshop leader. After graduating from the dance club scene, she longed for opportunities to dance completely conscious, aware, and substance free. She earned her certification in Dancing Mindfulness in 2015 and has practiced a variety of mindfulness modalities for over 15 years. Jennifer believes that embodied movement heals us toward wholeness, and she is deeply committed to supporting others as they integrate mindfulness and contemplative practices into their lives. She teaches counseling and mindfulness courses at Northern Kentucky University when she’s not hiking with Sugar Sharp (a quirky Beagle) or venturing into places where cell phones don’t work.
