The power of video. The power of music. The power of dance. Join the dancers of Sonia Plumb Dance Company at Real Art Ways for the video premiere of their two most recent projects, The Dance of da Vinci: A Documentary and Salute to the Troops.

ABOUT THE DANCE OF DA VINCI
Inspired by "The Notebooks of Leonardo da Vinci," choreogrpher Sonia Plumb explores four areas of his work: The Body (iL Corpo), Life of Animals (Vite degli animali), Physics, Geometry and Sacred Places (Fisica, Geometria, e Luoghi Sacri) and Culumination (Componere). The Dance of da Vinci premired at the Bushnell in April 2018. Original music by Michael Wall. Projections by Bryan Swormstedt. Costumes by Sabrina Notrafrancisco. Lighting by Michael Chybowski.
ABOUT SALUTE TO THE TROOPS
Conceived and produced by NIZ Ent. LLC, Salute to the Troops is an original rap song about a young veteran returning from war to find life back at home has its own challenges. Video by Burning Sun Films. Choreography by Sonia Plumb.
ABOUT THE PRODUCERS
Sonia Plumb Dance Company (SPDC) is a 501(c) 3 organization located in Hartford, CT. For nearly 30 years, SPDC has served the Greater Hartford region by: enriching, educating, and connecting diverse audiences through innovative modern dance by providing audiences from all cultures, age groups, abilities and income levels with opportunities to incorporate dance into their lives. Utilizing the trifects of performance, education and community engagement, SPDC works to provide a transformative perspective of our world through vivid choreography, compelling storytelling and creative collaborations with visual artists, musicians, professors, and puppetry masters. The Apprenticeship programs of Sonia Plumb Dance offer work-study opportunities for talented, high school graduates who lack the socio- and economic resources to attend a four-year college degree program in dance and/or video.
NIZ Ent. LLC is a Hartford based production company with the mission of providing a platform for local artists of all ages to develop their musical talents through a network of experienced professionals within our own community.
