Dance Kaleidoscope 2020 Works-In-Progress Documentary
Event Information
About this Event
Since 1987, SA Met Ballet has presented a mixed-repertoire concert of contemporary and classical dance with company dancers, local students and guest artists.
Due to unprecedented circumstances, San Antonio Metropolitan Ballet’s Spring 2020 performance – Dance Kaleidoscope, could not be performed on stage in the traditional sense.
With some improvisation and telecommunication, we kept dancing. In June, we brought you Dance Kaleidoscope Part One – The Shelter-in-Place Choreography Project – A Remote Ensemble Performance.
And now, we bring you Dance Kaleidoscope, Part Two: a behind the scenes look at four pieces intended for Spring 2020. In this 40-minute documentary, you will hear choreographer testimonials and see rehearsal notes, photos and videos, followed by the available footage of each piece as it was performed in-studio for a Regional Dance America Adjudicator in February 2020.
Featuring music by:
*Drehz *Kölsch *Max Richter & René Aubry and *William Goldstein
You will also see updates on what we are up to today as we embark on Season 37 in this new post-COVID reality for performing arts organizations.
Join us on November 15th for Dance Kaleidoscope 2020 Part 2 – the Works-In-Progress Documentary.
