Roshonda "Show Time" Parker-Kuduro/Afro House. @dnadancetribe Dancing through Grief: Dance as Medicine after Loss. Roshonda was born and raised in the Bay Area. Ms. Parker always had a passion for dance for as long as she could remember. As a teen, she trained in Afro Brazilian, West African, and Afro Haitian dance. However, with the loss of her son, she stopped dancing. Dancing had been a special activity she shared with her beloved son, and she could no longer find the strength to do it...until SHE COULD. Roshonda began to dance again and found that dance has been key to her coping and motivation to share her passion. After discovering Master Kuduro/Afro House instructor and award winning choreographer, Manuel Kanza, on YouTube, Roshonda became immediately facinated with this Angolan style of Urban Dance. She reached out to Mr. Kanza and quickly became his personal mentee. Ms. Parker has perfomred with Manuel Kanza in several showcases and performs regularly as the director of her own Kuduro/Afro Fusion Dance Group called DNA Tribe.
