About Michael:
Michael Demski has trained in martial arts since the age of 9, practicing Kung fu, Capoeria, Aikido, Judo, Pentjak Silat. But it was the internal arts, Tai chi, Ba Gua, Qi Gong, and Meditation, that catalyzed his interest in the body mind spirit, and the infinite capacity of healing through movement. Over the last 11 years he has worked, trained, and performed in contemporary dance. Starting in France, and then dancing for companies both internationally and at home including Compagnie Bo'em, Kaha:wi Dance Theatre, and Cannes Jeune Ballet..

After suffering from an injury, he became fascinated with body awareness and somatic practices with an emphasis on movement that heals the body instead of destroying it and learning from the body by listening to it.

Michael fell in love with partner dancing less than a decade ago. After moving through fusion, zouk, contact improv, and other traditional and modern styles, he is convinced that partner dance can be a highly beneficial and positive force in the world. He has set his sights on researching and optimizing concepts and practices that will work to transcend form to create a more accessible and confluent entity.
