The Danbury Concert Association 2016/2017 season features outstanding musicians in a pitch-perfect setting
At just $46 per subscription, the Danbury Concert Association's season offers area music lovers the opportunity to hear top musicians from all over the world in an accessible, state-of-the-art venue—at truly affordable prices.
All performances take place on Sunday afternoons at 3:00 p.m. at the Veronica Hagman Concert Hall, located in the Visual and Performing Arts Center (VPAC) on Western Connecticut State University’s Westside Campus in Danbury, CT.
This season's concerts are:
October 16, 2016, 3:00pm Russian String Orchestra
Formerly known as Chamber Orchestra Kremlin, this ensemble—still under the baton of founder/music director Misha Rachlevsky—features some of Russia’s finest young string players who impress audiences the world over.
November 13, 2016, 3:00pm Llewellyn Sanchez-Werner, piano
This ground-breaking prodigy—the youngest ever admitted to the Juilliard School’s College Division—has performed to acclaim around the world and captured the Gilmore Young Artist award, bestowed on the most promising American pianists of the new generation.
April 2, 2017, 3:00pm Brown-Urioste-Canellakis Trio
Pianist Michael Brown (a DCA “alumnus”) teams up with violinist Elena Urioste and cellist Nicholas Canellakis, “young award-winning musicians who wow the audience with their musicianship and stage presence.”
May 21, 2017, 3:00pm Fine Arts Quartet with Alon Goldstein
A “dream team” of diverse, fiercely talented musicians, whose instantly identifiable sound of “intense beauty restores and enriches,” will be joined by Israeli-American pianist Alon Goldstein, lauded for his “impeccable technical polish and sensitive musical intelligence.”
