Dan Greenblatt studied with jazz masters Barry Harris and Clifford Jordan. He spent 25 years in Seattle, where he performed and recorded with top Northwest jazz musicians, including Ernestine Anderson, Chuck Metcalf, Don Lanphere, and Jay Thomas. With the all-star Seattle Repertory Jazz Orchestra, he played with world-renowned guest artists such as Quincy Jones, Clark Terry, Frank Foster, and Jimmy Heath. In NYC from 2003 until 2013, Dan was Administrative Director of the world-famous Jazz program at The New School. The most recent recording he may be heard on is Amy London’s MOTEMA release, When I Look In Your Eyes.
Dan is the author of three books; Learning the Language of Jazz, The Blues Scales: Essential Tools For Jazz Improvisation, and Minor Is Major, all published by Sher Music.
