TOPIC: I’m Not A Salesperson - How to sell your product/service with CONFIDENCE

“Head up, shoulders down and walk in like you own the place!” How many times have you been given that pep talk for someone or from yourself? It’s all about confidence and how you present yourself, but what are the best ways to gain confidence in what you have to say without sounding like a salesperson reciting a script? Posture, voice tone, what you’re wearing and eye contact are just a few aspects of how to exude confidence. So how can we sell ourselves and our businesses with confidence without sounding sales-y? Our diverse panel will tackle different ways you can confidently sell your product or service.

SPEAKERS

Erica Collica // Associate Broker at Max Broock Detroit
Erica has worked as a Realtor for the past 13 years. A master negotiator and proven leader in the finesse of marketing residential property, her savvy expertise has propelled her to consistent sales, culminating to nearly $100 million in sales; more than 50 units a year. Erica's goal is to bring a broader sense of lifestyle and a more integrated approach to the real estate world, not only by being a leading broker, but by building meaningful relationships and creating a place for content, context, and community through social media. This new paradigm for real estate goes beyond buying or selling property, it’s about building opportunities for collaboration to better express and articulate what quality of life really means to people in the community. Erica's attention to detail and eye for design give her the edge and confidence that make her work style fresh, exciting and bold. She has an astute eye for the intricacies, realities, and opportunities, of the metro-Detroit real estate market. But, Erica doesn’t take herself too seriously. What she does take seriously is her clients' needs, goals, deadlines and expectations.

Laura Khalil // Executive Coach & Founder of Force of Badassery
After leaving a broken marriage in 2007, Laura found herself homeless and financially strapped. She vowed to get herself out of this situation by putting herself in the driver's seat of her life (quite literally) and moved to San Francisco and pursued a career in technology marketing. It was in this career path Laura faced many of the challenges confident, assertive and driven women deal with in the workplace. Unwilling to continue dealing with penalization for the same traits her counterparts were praised for, she launched her technology marketing consultancy in 2013. Six weeks later, Laura landed her first Fortune 500 clients. She has now built a multi-six figure business working with name brands such as Twitter, Intel, GE and more on global initiatives. Whether she’s speaking on stages sharing how to overcome sexism in the workplace, or teaching creative freelancers how to build a profitable business, Laura is a passionate leader determined to empower womxn worldwide. She is also the co-founder Detroit Writer’s Collective and has performed at The Moth, RISK!, Detroit Women of Comedy Festival, Detroit Stories, Go Comedy and Planet Ant.
