austin-based artist ariel rené jackson will debut doubt & imagination, a new video work that considers what data is appropriate when speculating about a cultural past that has been erased by colonialism + industrial progress
yoshitomo nara: i forgot their names and often can't remember their faces but remember their voices well
dallas contemporary’s career survey of japanese artist yoshitomo nara brings together a large selection of paintings, drawings + sculptures from 2006 to the present, many of which will be exhibited for the first time. for this exhibition, nara uses his creative process to explore + express his place in today’s world, while channeling his views on a broad range of urgent topics, such as nuclear disarmament, environmental activism, + the tragic ramifications of japan’s 2011 earthquake.

paolo roversi, one of the most revered Italian photographers, opens his first u.s. solo museum exhibition titled birds -- focusing on his 40+ year collaboration with comme des garçons + its founder rei kawakubo.

chinese artist liu xiaodong’s exhibition borders offers a parallel landscape of a u.s. - mexico border that is often unknown to the public + not represented in the media through a series of new paintings + footage.

in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, by reserving a ticket visitors agree to follow dallas contemporary's code of conduct:
- visitors are expected to wear face coverings. visitors will not be allowed entry without adequate face covering. if you do not have your own mask or face covering, we are happy to provide one for you.
- visitors feeling unwell or have a temperature at or above 100.4°F (37.8°C) are kindly asked to stay home. all visitors will have their temperature checked by a dc staff member prior to admittance into the museum. those showing temperatures of 100.4°F (37.8°C) + higher will not be permitted to enter.
- visitors must maintain 6 feet of distance between themselves and other visitors not within their family/group. children must always stay with adults.
- visitors must practice social distancing while inside the building, staying at least 6 feet away from anyone they didn’t arrive with at all times.
- visitors are asked to practice proper hygiene for the prevention of disease as directed by the CDC, including handwashing. hand sanitizing stations will be available throughout the building.
- leave large bags, backpacks, and other bulky items at home, they cannot be taken into the galleries or left at the front desk.
- for the safety of all guests + staff members, cash payments will not be accepted for dc shop purchases. credit/debit card or contactless (NFC) payment will be required for all transactions.
- if you are experiencing symptoms, please stay home. anyone exhibiting symptoms during their visit will be asked to leave.
