Dallas Chocolate Workshops 2018
Event Information
Description
Get some hands on chocolate experience at the Dallas Chocolate Festival Workshops.
Learn to make chocolate from bean-to-bar, come for an intensive chocolate tasting, or stay all day and do both.
Inspired by the Dallas Chocolate Festival? Wanting to be a part of the Future of Chocolate? Join us for a pair of hands-on chocolate workshops and have fun learning with professional instruction. Both workshops are individually ticketed and take place in the upstairs cafe/event area of the Whole Foods Market at Preston & Forest. These are serious classes, taught by working chocolate professionals, that are designed to be fun and suitable for all skill levels.
The Bean-to-Bar Chocolate Making Workshop from 9:00 am until 1:00 pm will be taught by an amazing group of American chocolate makers: Ben Rasmussen of Potomac Chocolate, Art Pollard of Amano Chocolate, Troy Easton of Sublime Chocolate, and Jessica Beeman of 5 Mile Chocolate. And who knows who else will stop by...
You will learn about cacao farming, cacao bean roasting, winnowing, conching, tempering, and more. You will leave the class with a bar you helped make yourself!
In the Chocolate Tasting Workshop from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm you will learn how to taste fine chocolate and why it tastes like it does.
We know you love fine chocolate, but do you know what makes your favorite bar taste the way it does? Let Lauren Adler of Chocolopolis, the influential chocolate shop in Seattle, WA, and Rob Anderson of Fresco Chocolate be your guide. You will sample chocolates using the methods honed in Chocolopolis's regular tasting panels while learning how roasting, conching, and other tools of the chocolate maker are used to develop specific flavors. By the end of the class you will have a much better understanding of why bean-to-bar chocolate is such a unique treat.
Class fees include instruction and all materials. Sign up for both the classes and save!
