Event description

On the morning of Saturday, May 4, QBG is hosting a 4K run/walk in which participants can run, walk, or push a stroller while enjoying spring flowers! Small groups welcome but all volunteers must register individually.

We are looking for volunteers to help! We have two volunteer opportunities:

6am to 10am: We need volunteers to help with event set-up, participant registration, crowd control, route guidance (this role allows for individuals to sit in a chair), assist with Start Line, assist in Parking Garden, and to staff information tables.

8am to 12pm: We need volunteers to help set up post-race area, staff the craft and activity tables, hand out food and drinks, and break down the event.

Registration required.

Individual sign-up ONLY. To arrange for a group volunteer opportunity, please email

Is there an age requirement?

Individual participants must be 16 year of age or older.

Families are welcome but parents must supervise children at all times.

No children under 16 years old, please.

Can I only come for one hour or part of the day?

Due to limited space and the setup of this event we require volunteers to stay for their entire shift

Where do I go once I get to the garden? What time should I arrive?

During Daffodil Dash 4K Fun Run the only way to enter the Garden is via the Parking Garden entrance (42-80 Crommelin St). Parking is $20 per vehicle and limited.

Once you enter the Parking Garden you will see a Registration Table, please go there and look for the Volunteer Coordinator who will be wearing a neon vest.

Do I need to know any skills ahead of time? How physical is the work?

We welcome all skill levels to participate--you do not need to know anything prior to coming. You will be trained in safety and skills for each session. We try to accommodate all ability levels, however participants must be able to do some physical work including bending over, lifting 10+ pounds, and standing or walking for long periods of time.

What are my transportation and parking options getting to the Garden?

Please park in our Parking Garden lot. For this event, parking is $20 per vechicle. Tell the attendant your name and that you are here to volunteer for the Volunteer Day. More information about transportation and parking can be found here.

What should I bring?

Please wear weather appropriate clothing--sun hats and sunscreen if it's hot or layers if it's cold, and don't forget comfortable shoes. Bring a water bottle and snack if you'd like.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Our events are rain or shine. In very inclement weather, you will be notified of a cancelled or rescheduled volunteer date.

In the case that an event is cancelled, you will be notified via email.
