Description

CYSO’s Symphony Orchestra kicks off their Tour of the Baltics with a free concert celebrating summer! Join our talented young musicians for this family-friendly performance. Before and after the concert, stick around for a festival featuring organizations, activities, and crafts from the countries the orchestra will visit on tour: Sweden, Finland, Estonia, and Russia. Festival runs from 2:00 – 6:00 pm. Concert begins at 3:00 pm.

SWEDEN | Make a Midsommar flower crown and viking hat with activities provided by the Swedish American Museum

ESTONIA | Cultural and historical information about the Estonian capital of Tallinn from Estonian Vice Consulate Siim Soot

FINLAND | Learn about Finnish music including composer Jean Sibelius and traditional Kantele music with Liisa McMahon of the Finnish American Society of the Midwest

RUSSIA | Design your own Russian matryoshka nesting doll and explore cultural and historical information coordinated by Roosevelt viola faculty, Igor Fedotov
