Cycle the Creek: 50th Anniversary Edition
Date and time
Description
Come bike with us! Celebrate 50 years with a 50-mile bicycle ride, or join us for an 8-mile family-friendly route.
Cycle the Creek is back for its 5th year, and this time we're doing something a little different. In honor of the watershed district's 50th anniversary, we'll be hosting a 50-mile ride in addtion to the usual shorter ride. The 8-mile ride will stay almost entirely on paved bike trails with a few road crossings, while the 50-mile route will traverse paved trails and a few roads. It is an unsupported ride. This is a family friendly event, and minors need to be accompanied by an adult. Helmets and waivers are required. Space is limited for safety, so register early.
At 50 square miles, the Riley Purgatory Bluff Creek Watershed District is home to many diverse water resources, including three creeks, fifteen lakes, and many acres of wetlands. Our community boasts extensive walking and biking trails, perfect for enjoying these water bodies. As we celebrate 50 years of watershed history, we’re hosting a series of events designed to help you discover something new about the lakes, creeks, and wetlands in your community.
Join us after the ride for refreshmentst at Lake Ann Park!
