Join Cycle Hamilton on April 25th for our 2019 Annual General Meeting!

This is an opportunity for members of the Hamilton community to meet members of the CH team and learn about the advocacy work we are doing! We will provide some updates from the previous year and share plans for moving forward.

Whether or not you are already part of the Cycle Hamilton community, you are invited to attend! We will have membership information available during the meeting and will be able to answer any questions you may have about joining and/or renewing an existing membership.

The event will be held at MERIT Brewing Company. Doors will open at 6:00 for a half hour of informal networking and socializing. The official AGM events will kick off promptly at 7:00. Speakers will include current Cycle Hamilton co-chairs, as well as a keynote address from Diane Freeman, City of Waterloo Ward 4 Councillor and Civil Engineer.

Cash bar available.

Agenda:

  • 6:00pm: Registration, social, and refreshments

  • 7:00pm: Introduction and year in review

  • 7:30pm: Financial review and voting of new Board members

  • 7:45pm: Keynote address from Diane Freeman

  • 8:30pm: Refreshment break and facilitated roundtable discussions

Keynote address: Diane Freeman

"About 30% of people in the community don’t have a drivers license due to age, ability or cost." ~ Diane Freeman". Join us to hear from Diane about how safe and connected bike routes can make getting around our city more accessible.

Raised in Woodstock, Ont., Diane enrolled in civil engineering at the University of Waterloo in 1986. As a licensed professional engineer, Diane worked for 23 years as an environmental engineer. Today she works full-time as a senior project engineer with Masri O Architects located in Waterloo.

Diane has lived in Waterloo for over 20 years. She and her husband Peter have raised 2 children in the Colonial Acres area of Waterloo. Diane is a member of Waterloo City Council and was first elected in 2006. During this time she has been an unrelenting champion for building accessible communities by planning, funding and installing sidewalks, trails and dedicated active transportation infrastructure.
She also served the Engineering profession for over 25 years on the Board of Professional Engineers Ontario as well as the Board of Engineers Canada. On these boards, she held many executive positions including President of Professional Engineers of Ontario in 2010-2011.
