Ryan Neumeyer - McDonald Hopkins LLC

Ryan T. Neumeyer is a member in the Litigation Department’s Labor and Employment Practice Group. He came to McDonald Hopkins after 10 years at a boutique labor and employment firm. Ryan has the distinction of being a Certified Specialist in the practice of labor and employment law by the Ohio State Bar Association. He represents and counsels management on a variety of employment law matters, such as employee leave, overtime, disability accommodations, termination and layoff decisions, and workplace injuries. He is a frequent lecturer on employment law topics. Earlier in his career, Ryan was an appellate attorney for the Office of the State Appellate Defender in Chicago and an extern for the Honorable Alice M. Batchelder, United States Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit. Ryan earned a J.D. from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law, cum laude, and a B.A. from Mount Union College. Ryan is also an Ohio State Bar Association Certified Specialist in Labor and Employment Law. The Supreme Court of Ohio Commission on Certification of Attorneys as Specialists accredits the Ohio State Bar Association (OSBA) to certify Ohio attorneys as specialists.The OSBA undergoes rigorous and continuous review for compliance with the standards established for certification.

Michael V. Grycan, ARM - Gallagher

Michael V. Grycan is the Area Vice President for Gallagher, a global insurance brokerage, risk management, and consulting firm, serves communities around the globe, helping clients address risk, protecting assets and recovering from losses. His primary focus is to enhance and develop business relationships for Gallagher. Michael has 19 years of commercial services background—working in the business services industry for seven years and 12 years in the risk management and property and casualty insurance industry.

Colin Battersby, CIPP/US - McDonald Hopkins LLC

Colin M. Battersby is counsel in the firm’s national Data Privacy and Cybersecurity Practice Group. He is certified by the International Association of Privacy Professionals as a Certified Information Professional for the United States, which is considered the gold standard for information privacy professionals. He advises clients on best practices to prevent and respond to cybersecurity concerns, including leading data breach incident response efforts in combination with forensic technical vendors and company decision-makers, provides counsel on post-breach notice obligations in accordance with state data breach notice statutes or specific contractual obligations, drafts and coordinates the delivery of required notice throughout the United States and advises on post-breach remedial measures. Prior to joining McDonald Hopkins, Colin was the co-founder and co-leader of the Cybersecurity and Data Privacy Service at Miller, Canfield, Paddock and Stone, P.L.C. Colin also represents large and small businesses across many industries in claims alleging breach of contract, tort, product liability, legal and accounting malpractice and securities violations. He earned his J.D. from Wayne State University Law School in 2007. Colin received a Bachelor of Economics from the University of Michigan in 2004.

Alex Hamerstone - TrustedSec

Alex Hamerstone, QSA, ISO 27001, CISSP, is the Practice Lead for Governance, Risk Management, and Compliance at TrustedSec, and has over a decade of information security consulting experience. TrustedSec’s motto, “Information Security Made Simple,” holds true to Alex’s beliefs and his ability to deliver effective solutions to customers. Known as a passionate advocate for the clients he works with as well as the security industry, Alex uses his consulting experience to partner with all sizes of organizations in all verticals, performing assessments, audits, and security program development. Alex has designed security programs for both large and small organizations and has advised and performed security assessments for companies ranging from small businesses to Fortune 100 corporations. Alex’s experience covers a wide swath of industries, including retail, utilities, education, insurance, and healthcare, providing him with a unique view into the ways that organizations effectively integrate security into business. Additional areas of expertise include program development, process creation, documentation, regulatory compliance, cloud implementation, security awareness, standards adherence, and international information security regulations. He has presented to many Boards of Fortune 500 companies, showcasing his sought-after ability to articulate the importance of information security to the business. Prior to TrustedSec, Alex was the Compliance Officer for a software company with enterprise customers in over 27 countries, which was purchased by Oracle. As Compliance Officer, he was ultimately responsible for ensuring that the company complied with a multitude of data security laws and regulations all over the world, as well as ensuring that employees met corporate standards.
