Join the Wilton E. Scott Institute for Energy Innovation at Carnegie Mellon University for a Distinguished Lecture featuring Jonathan White, manager of the Cyber-Physical Energy Systems Security Group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL).
Lunch will be available at 11:45 a.m. This event is free and open to the public.
Biography
Jonathan White performs research in experimental mechanics, embedded sensors in rotors, operational monitoring, and structural health monitoring. He was responsible for the design and construction of the DOE/Sandia SWiFT Facility and has contributed to the DOE Atmosphere to Electrons program through work on the wake dynamics, wake steering, and national rotor testbed project teams. He has also worked with teams to analyze and develop new algorithms for utility-scale wind plants and detailed measurements at a moderate-scale wind plant. Jon received a doctorate and master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Purdue University and a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from The Ohio State University.
