The College of FE and the Digital Greenhouse are to host a number of security awareness training session aimed at end users and small to medium businesses, of which this is one. Each session is free, ‘stand alone’ and you can go to as many as you wish.
Cyber Warfare: Not if, but when
Cyber warfare is indiscriminate in the size of organisation attacked, and often even small companies will be targeted because they have fewer defences and are more likely to pay up.
The better an organisation knows it assets – and associated threats to those assets - the better it can defend again them. This session deals with formalising the security framework necessary for a security aware small to medium organisation and will look at:
- Threat modelling: risk identification and mitigation
- Your organisation's valuable assets and how to protect them
- Enforcing role based access
- Using the best practice that is already available
- The case for data classification
- Incident management
This session will be suitable for those technical staff and senior business management who have the responsibility to prevent and deal with a security breach.
The content will be non-technical, however some basic IT terminology is assumed.
The session will be a mixture of tutor-led discussion and group based scenario exercises.
