About this event
Do you know…
- How to decode secret messages?
- What social engineering is?
- How to pick locks?
- How to read packet capture files?
The Cyber Safety workshop will introduce middle school students to what and how the Internet works, learn about technologies that support it through interactive activities, and understand techniques to navigate the Internet securely. There will be a group demonstration on how messages travel through a network of computers and routers, as well as an escape room segment with four activities, including decryption, social engineering, lock picking, and reading packet capture files. At the end of the workshop, students will have an understanding about the technologies behind the Internet (e.g., encrypted messages and network traffic) and how to protect themselves on the World Wide Web.
Come to this workshop and learn these skills and more!
