Event Details

Cyber Law and Privacy Symposium 2019: Hosted by Carnegie Mellon University, with sponsorship from Eckert Seamans, LLC

On May 8 Carnegie Mellon University’s Heinz College of Information Systems and Public Policy, with support from the CERT Division of the Software Engineering Institute, will host the 2019 Cyber Law and Privacy Symposium. The purpose of the event is to bring together risk managers, legal experts, CMU faculty, and cybersecurity professionals to discuss current topics in the areas of cyber law, privacy, risk management, operational resilience, and compliance.

The event will consist of a mix of presentations and panels, chosen to spur discussions and crowd participation in hopes that different perspectives can create a greater understanding of some of the current challenges in this space.

We have limited the event to no more than 100 professionals to encourage full audience participation within a community of experts in hopes that new ideas and partnerships can form.

CMU, the Heinz College, and its federally funded CERT Division are recognized thought leaders in cyber security and operational resilience.

Registration and breakfast open at 8:00 am, and the symposium will start at 8:30 am with opening remarks and introductions, followed by a series of presentations and panels concluding at 12:15 pm. The event is free to attend, thanks to the sponsorship of Eckert Seamans. Eckert Seamans is an experienced national provider of data security and privacy legal services to businesses spanning a wide variety of industries.

This is a closed event. Media is prohibited.
