Event description

Description

Inspired by Hillyer's October exhibition "History in Blue" by Bundith Phunsombatlert, artist and August 2019 exhibitor Emily Fussner will lead participants as they make their own cyanotype prints using found objects. After a brief overview of the history and creative potential of cyanotypes, a direct photographic print made when paper or fabric with a photosensitive coating is exposed to UV light, Fussner will teach participants the-step-by-step process as they create and print their own composition.

PLEASE NOTE: We will create our cyanotype prints outside in sunlight, so please dress accordingly. Participants are encouraged to bring objects to use to create a composition for their print. Alternatively, there will be the opportunity to walk throughout the Dupont neighborhood to find other objects.
