Event description
This workshop is a part of a series of TAP Cohort workshops led by staff and artists at Community-Word Project in 2020.

About this Event

In this workshop, participants will explore socially conscious art-making through creative writing and how that work translates to the classroom. Participants will gain concrete lessons and skills that are applicable to their classrooms and can be modified for various grade levels. Community-Word Project Teaching Artist and Director of the Teaching Artist Project, Katie Rainey, will facilitate this session based off her work with 9th grade students from The Young Women's Leadership School (TYWLS) in Jamaica, Queens.
