Event description
How do we secure the growing number of devices connected to the internet? Can we assure security while promoting innovation in the industry?

About this Event

Welcome to our second CWF Forum in 2020!

We have invited a panel of experts from the industry, academe and public sector organisations to discuss the measures being adapted to secure the growing number of smart devices, as well as critical digital infrastructure.

Is the pace at which innovation is happening too fast to assure the security of the systems that are being created by connected appliances, machines and vehicles?

Join our panel of experts to discuss the future we are heading to, its implications on a human, technical and governance level, and what actions or measures are being put in place by different stakeholder sectors to assure the safety of users, manufacturers and critical infrastructure providers.

Nele Mentens: Associate Professor at KULeuven's COSIC Lab. Her research includes configurable computing for security applications, and security in constrained environments and embedded systems. The COSIC lab focuses on the protection of digital information. They develop advanced cybersecurity solutions to protect data in the cloud and in the Internet of Things (IoT), and to protect the privacy of users.

Dieter Sarrazyn: Freelance SCADA/ICS/OT security consultant who’s working extensively on Industrial Control Systems security since 2008. He performs different kinds of security assessments within industrial environments including intrusion testing, physical penetration testing, technical system assessments, risk assessments and provides assistance in securing these environments. He also helps customers to manage security of solutions deployed by their industrial suppliers and integrators through doing security requirements management and security FAT and SAT tests. Next to assessing environments, he is also providing training and awareness sessions on SCADA/ICS/OT security and coaches young graduates within this field.

- (To be confirmed: Speaker from the IoT unit of the European Commission.)
