Topic: “Engineering” Safety?!

Mike and Jerry will be presenting about the importance of “Engineering” out safety hazards early on in a project’s design…not only to make it safe during construction, but also safe to maintain for years to come. They will lightheartedly share some of their favorite FAILS and pitfalls that makes it difficult for agencies to safely access and maintain equipment and facilities often requiring expensive retrofits or modifications after the project is accepted.

Jerry has a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Technology with Emphasis in Safety Management from CSU, Chico. He past the Certified Safety Professional examination in 1996 and has 27 years safety experience, the past 19 years in the water and wastewater industry. Speaker: Mike Marzano, Environmental Health and Safety Program Manager

Mike has 35 years of experience managing safety for different industries. He is a Certified Safety Manager and has worked in the wastewater industry for 11 years at Union Sanitary District. One of Mike’s responsibilities is to review safety plans for Capital Improvement Projects.
