Description

Cortical Visual Impairment (CVI) is the leading cause of pediatric visual Impairment in the US. CVI can and should improve with proper intervention. This full-day training will include:

1. Understanding CVI: Definition, Risk Factors, Diagnosis

2. Phases of CVI

3. The CVI Range Assessment Overview

4. Building Interventions into Routines

5. Developing a CVI Schedule

6. Implementing a CVI IFSP/IEP

MaryAnne Roberto will be our presenter, she is a Perkins CVI Endorsed TVI and has been serving children with visual impairments for over 30 years; she was involved with the PA CVI Mentorship Program in 2010-2011 at Western Pennsylvania School for the Blind, where she began working with children with CVI in earnest. Since that training, MaryAnne has implemented a two year CVI training program at Overbook School for the Blind, and has conducted numerous trainings for Early Intervention programs, service coordinators and evaluation teams about Cortical Visual Impairment.
