Scott currently works on Digital Partnerships & Development for American Express, where he's bringing the next generation of innovative products and partnerships to life for the company's customers and merchants.  Prior to American Express, Scott was responsible for a $30MM sales distribution partnership pipeline at Dow Chemical.

On the startup side, Scott was the founder & CEO of Hot Pot Culinary Events, a social cooking experiences company based in NYC.  Scott began his startup life as a Java developer during the Web 1.0 dot-com days, where he rose from intern to head of engineering for UVentures (acquired by Innovaro) as a 19 year old college freshman.

Scott writes about business development for Forbes and blogs at http://www.startofthedeal.com.  He is a passionate teacher and lecturer on business development (Harvard, Wharton, Babson, NYU, Fordham, Skillshare, General Assembly) and is a tireless advocate for the New York startup community.

About CVC Workshops

CVC Workshops is an ongoing series intended to showcase and leverage the growing knowledge base and expertise that exists within the CVC organization. We typically feature a speaker who is an expert on a given subject, and focus each session on a specific area of entrepreneurship. Past workshops have included discussions around startup basics, like navigating a cap table for the first time and doing initial sales for a prototype product. CVC Workshops are highly interactive and are a great way to learn tangible insights around a particular topic that can be immediately applied to your business. Bring specific questions and practical use cases!
