Class Hours: 9:00 AM - 4:00 PM


This three-day course is designed for remote sensing scientists, engineers and developers who wish to incorporate their own algorithms and workflows into ENVI. This course provides the tools necessary for a user to extend ENVI with IDL, including ENVI library routines, custom file readers and writers, batch processing, and user functions. Students should be familiar with ENVI, ideally having taken Introduction to ENVI Analytics. Several ENVI programs are developed in class. It is required that students have a basic understanding of how to program in IDL.

Prerequisites: Basic operating knowledge of computers required. Programming experience in IDL is a must to get the most from this. Some experience or knowledge of HTML and JavaScript is also a plus.
